Bill Larson & Gene Meieran Precious Gem Collection

Gene Meieran and Bill Larson were invited to present a selection of cut gems and gem crystals at this year's show.  The crystals leave your mouth agape.   There was also a small selection of gold and silver specimens.   For me the most interesting was the enormous gem crystal of Euclase from Columbia.  Makes me shake when I look at the picture.

This is the entrance to the special exhibits at the show this year.

This is one of the gold specimens on display.  Very sharply crystallized specimen from the Mockingbird Mine in California. The smaller
double crystal in the lower left is from the Colorado Quartz Mine also in California.

This specimen on the left is fine crystallized gold from the Colorado Quartz Mine in California.  The silver specimens on the right are from Kongsberg.

This is an incredible crystal of euclase in excess of 15 cm in length.

Here is an array of topaz crystals from South American and Asian localities.

This is an incredible 12 cm + crystal of beryl v. morganite on albite from Afghanistan.  Also present is a pretty decent smoky quartz.

This is a 12-14 cm gem crystal of beryl v. aquamarine.

This is a specimen of calcite with a 3+ cm crystal of gem emerald.

This is only a small selection of what was on display.  There were garnets, tanzanites, tourmalines and more presented in this display.
