The following are an interesting group of rare species found at the 2002 Munich Show.


MSRAR01 - SOLD
Talmessite on Calcite - $65.00

This specimen of dolomite has crystals of hematite stained calcite upon which are deposited crystal
sprays of talmessite to 4 mm across.  Talmessite is a hydrated arsenate of calcium and magnesium.

Exceptionally rich specimen of voltaite (whitish crystalline crust and specks) on crystals of brown
szomolnokite.  Both species are sulfates and both contain iron.  Voltaite also contains potassium.

This specimen has an exposed vug with crystals of blusih green fluorite to 0.3 cm across and a crystal of burbankite.
Burbankite is a very rare carbonate species with the formula: (Na,Ca)3(Sr,Ba,Ce)3(CO3)5.
The crystal is 2 mm across and it also fluorescent under W UV light.

This old timer is 100% crylolite with one section of lustrous crystal faces.  Cryolite is a
fluoride of sodium and aluminum. The label glued on the specimen dates from 1871.

Microlite, Tourmaline on Albite - $150.00

8 x 5 x 5 cm


Close to a dozen sharp golden colored microlite octahedrons are perched on this specimen
which measures 8 X 5 X 5 cm.  The albite is almost gemmy and blue in color and is the main
matrix mineral.  There is ample green and watermelon tourmaline throughout the specimen with
some showing gemmy areas and some terminations.   This is an attractive combination
and association specimen with superb microlites up to 0.5 cm across.
