Moroccan Vanadinite

The mines of Mibladen have been producing vanadinite in seemingly unfathomable numbers.  The vast majority of this production is of nominal significance to the mineral world however with small, damaged, or discolored crystals.  In the abundance it is easy to overlook the real jewels from this deposit.  Specimens with bright "coca cola" red crystals on the cream colored bladed barite are the real catch from this mine.  At the Munich Show this year I decided to break with my vow to avoid these things since the day will come when they will no longer be available.   There was a lot of vanadinite at the show but, no surprise, the number of specimens of high to very high quality were a relative few.  I scoured through well over 1000 specimens to find these eight that were not damaged.  You should how much it ISN'T to look at smashed up rocks!!
