All specimens are from this show are now Sold though not necessarily marked as such

Hall B3 had a lot of diversity with the personal collection displays, numerous fine dealers from around the world, and the large fine food location.  I spent most of my time between Hall B2 and Hall B3 as there were a great many opportunities for excellent Chinese and Moroccan specimens.  Also there were quite a few dealers with a fine array of Romanian material.  Again, I have to thank English dealer Mark Wrigley for putting my nose into this fine material.

First a look at some of the specimens and dealers that were in Hall B3 and then some of the displays.

Actually, here's a place I visited every day... For a fine sandwich or bratwurst and drink.

Here is the dealer from SW China Minerals in Chengdu.  If you ever see him it is worth your while to stop
and see what he has. Scheelites and beryl are his best material.  The piece on the right is from him.

Here is a very arge Romanian quartz specimen.  Specimens like this were easy to find
all over Hall B3. Much too large for me to carry however back on the plane to California.

Remember what I said about Vanadinite... At least one dealer was color coordinated
by mixing bright green chinese pyromorphite with the bright red vanadinite. What
you see here is but a scratch on the surface of the amount of the vanadinite that
was available.  This stuff is more plentiful than milk at a dairy!

The next images are a small selection from the personal displays that were presented.  It was not practical to detail all of the fine displays so my apologies to those whose are not shown here.  They were all excellent!

The first case on display was that of Heinz-Dieter Goetter (left) and Dr. Bernhard Sick (right).  Their case featured specimens from the historical Archduke Stephan Victor collection.  Heinz-Dieter specializes in fluorite specimens (look for his coming website Fluorite.De).  Bernhard specializes in historical specimens with old labels. They also displayed artwork done by an artist whose name is Martin Haubenreisser. He takes specimens and labels and draws the specimen and reproduces the labels by hand.  My mouth was open wide enough to catch flies while viewing the pictures.  The reproductions look BETTER than the originals.   I must also pass along here that Heinz-Dieter presented me with a completely unexpected gift - a specimen of neptunite from the Benitoite Gem Mine with an old Freiberg Label.  Dieter and Bernhard also had a booth in Hall B2 with many fine historical specimens avialable - many outstanding fluorite specimens too!

This is the one specimen that will go into my personal collection from this trip to Munich.  Thank you Heinz-Dieter!

This case featured specimens from Elba Island.  I visited Elba this past summer with Dr. Alessandro Genazanni and had the opportunity
to visit the Grotta d'Oggi mine - type locality for elbaite. This display had many fine elbaites and morganite beryls.

This display featured fine specimens of fluorite from Saxony.  Some of the fluorite colors are unique to mines from this region.

Chow time!  I know now what inspired the phrase "good enough to eat".  My
picture of the N'Chwaning rhodochrosite does not do this specimen jsutice.

Like the other halls there was a steady stream of visitors in B3.
