Hall B1 was the first hall people saw entering the show.   It was dominated by jewelry venders so I spent little time here other than to view the displays that were set up - hey, my interest is in minerals!  The theme of the show this year was caves and rocks found in caves.  Hence, there was a display from a private collector and who better to ask to share his collection other than Marty Zinn?  Marty is well known as a stalactite collector specializing in mineral specimens with stalactitic form.  There were also several other displays of paintings and other stalactitic based items.

This was a very detailed and interesting display.  I took 2 images to offer a 3-d view of this model
display of a canoist in a water filled cave. To see the 3d cross your eyes and bring the images
together. Takes a little practice but you will see 3 dimensions.

This was one of a couple dozen painting and pictures created by Alain Martaud.
This painting is of vanadanite from Mibladen, Morocco.

This particular display had huge specimens of copper bearing aragonite and milky white aragonite - all precipitated in caves.

The featured display was a small portion of the Marty Zinn Collection.  Quite an elaborate entry with about 50-60 specimens of Marty's on display.

Rhodochrosite stalactites from Argentina and Calcite on hemimorphite stalactites from Mexico
25-30 cm tall set of malachite stalactites from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and
a very unusual specimen of malachite with a "cap" of crystalline azurite from Arizona. Do
you see a face in the malachite on the right or is it just me?

20 cm tall amethyst stalactite from Uraguay.  A very complex slice of a 5-6 cm wide malachite
stalactite from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and rare stalactite of pyromorphite from Idaho.
