Hauyne

I saw this lot of hauynes at the show and they were just too colorful and the grains too large to pass up. Hauyne is a member of the sodalite group which includes other species such as hackmanite, sodalite and lazurite. The blue in hauyne can be a very deep sapphire blue. A couple specimens near the end actually have crystals which is rather rare for hauyne. You'll note that the prices for these are mostly the same. I selected the very largest and most uniform specimens that the dealer had and left the rest for the next person. Hence, there's not a lot of price variation.
