Mt. St. Hilaire Specimens

During the course of the show I found a number of fine or very interesting specimens from one of the world's great mineral localities.  There were enough pieces found from various dealers at Munich to warrant making a special page of nothing but Mt. St. Hilaire specimens.  Like Tsumeb, Mt. St. Hilaire is popular with European collectors.

AD01
Adamsite (not IMA Approved yet) & Thomasclarkite
Mt. St. Hilaire
Quebec, Candada
$500.00

Exceptionally rich specimen of this rare yttrium bearing carbonate!  This specimen is 4 x 3 cm and has a large area with fan shaped crystals of adamsite.  There are also several 1mm or less sized crystals of thomasclarkite as seen in the photo in the upper left.  This is one of the better specimens out there of this new mineral.

One of those classic St. Hilaire wonders! This specimen consists of catapleiite replacing sodalite.  The dodecahedral crystal form of the sodalite is clearly visible. The specimem measures 2.2 cm across.  There is also some attached Polylithionite - a fluorine bearing phyllosilicate or mica.

CRY01

$850.00

One of the rarer species found at Mt. St. Hilaire!  This specimen is 3.8 x 3.6 cm in dimension and has about a dozen crystals of slightly rounded cryolite to 1.2 cm across.   You will probably not see a cryolite specimen of this quality from St. Hiliaire again on the www!
