Iranian Minerals

One of the best surprises at the show was the presence of these new  specimens from Iran!  It is very rare to see any decent material from this country.   Poltical and other differences which, in the grand scheme of things are kind of silly, prevent most of the world from seeing new material from this country.  I was told by Jordi Fabre that the finest wulfenite in the world comes from Iran - even better than the material seen from the Red Cloud mine in Arizona.  I asked him with a straight face to "tell me the truth".  With an even straighter face he said it is true!  Judging from some of the colors seen here they are every bit as richly colored as any specimens I have seen from the Red Cloud so it may in fact be true.  Regardless, here are some interesting specimens of wulfenite, mimetite, danburite (from a new find!) , and cerussite.
