This
is the richest specimen of bromargyrite I have ever seen! The specimen
is at least 98 % bromargyrite and it weighs over 73 grams. Hence, it sure
contains over 2 troy ounces of silver!! The bromargyrite is crystalline
and varies from razor sharp to somewhat round in habit. Minor quartz
association with this chunk of silver bromide!

specimen is comprised primarily of galena and sphalerite with minor quartz.
Galena and sphalerite are both massive and crystalline on this specimen.
Also present is a a 0.5 cm cluster of the rare silver bearing sulfosalt
diaphorite. They are easily distinguished with the striated crystals.

specimen has numerous scattered and clustered sulfide species such as sphalerite
and pyrite on it. In a couple of places are found small lath shaped
crystals of lengenbachite to 3 mm in length. There is even on 1 mm crystal

This
specimen has numerous scattered and clustered sulfide species such as sphalerite
and pyrite on it. Near the center is a 1.1 cm crystal of jordanite.
The crystal appears to have been lightly buffed to improve its luster but
the fces are all there. Note that in the photo on the left the jordanite
appears to be reddish. This is due to the reflection of my hand on the
piece. It is steel gray in color.

This
specimen is nearly covered on two sides with canary yellow colored crystals
of fluorite to about 1 cm across. Also set on the specimen are two crystals
of lustrous galena. They are cubic with octahedral face modifications.
The rock has not been reparied even though the crack in the center of the
specimen would suggest that. It is 100% natural and again NOT repaired.

This
specimen of goethite is host to sprays of flat lying crystals of legrandite.
The longest is slightly over 3 cm in length. This specimen displays
the color zoning found in a lot of legrandite with nearly snow white cores
trending to deep canary yellow. A little trimming and removal of
the iron stain on this specimen would add significant value.

This
is an exceptional specimen of rosasite on Malachite pseudomorphing azurite.
The pseudomorphs are atypically razor sharp and the thin coating of rosasite
provides a unique hue to this piece. Small secondary azurite crystals
are found scattered about the specimen and the peach colored mineral is
smithsonite. This specimen was secured during the fourth Vaux-Academy
Mineral Expedition held between 1929 and 1930.

This
is a specimen of rosasite on malachite pseudomorphing azurite.
The pseudomorphs in cross section clearly show the layering of the rosasite
on malachite. This specimen comes with an Art Montgomery label identifying
the specimen as "paraurichalcite". This was later found to be the same
as rosasite and the name was discredited.

This specimen of diseminated azurite rich matrix is covered on one side with olive green arthurite. Upon that are set myriad crystals of hexagonal chalcophyllite to 0.7 cm across. Most specimens from this locality have micro crystals. This would rate as one of the better examples from Potrerillos.
