May 10, 2018 Hauser Bed Agates & Thundereggs from Joel Hauser’s Personal Collection At last, the Hauser Bed agates and thundereggs from the personal collection of Joel Hauser, the discoverer of the Hauser Beds near Blythe, California. These were all on display either in his home museum in the basement with a view or in his living room display cabinets. I truly wanted these to stay together in a museum but, the museums we contacted already had Hauser bed specimens in their collections. Hence, they are all now available to you, the collector. I hope you enjoy seeing the diversity within the collection and the BEST of the Hauser Beds! Enjoy Gaia’s art!Ronna Gaiaagates.com

December 20, 2017 Czech Republic Agate and Jasper Collection Update This is a collection recently obtained of agates and jaspers amassed by the late Czech Republic artist Bohumil Vrzal. It has a wide variety of specimens that may be more valuable in Czech Republic but, I am offering them at bargain prices to share these localities and educate about less popular or otherwise unknown agates and jaspers to the agate/jasper collecting community. Bohumil Vrzal, born in 1940, is widely known in the Czech Republic for his vivid artwork . He passed away in 2014. Enjoy Gaia’s

November 16, 2017 Munich Show Agates and Polyhedroids Oh My! The Munich Mineralientage Gem and Mineral Show never disappoints! There were amazing displays this year including a fantastic display of Benitoite specimens which included Benitoite jewelry from the Mike Scott collection. But, that's minerals. Dietrich Mayer had a wonderful display of Chinese Fighting Blood agates that made me drool. I have six of his signed copies of More Exquisite Agates still available. These have been discounted as the covers have very minor scuffing. Please see the listing in this update for details. I found some of the Moroccan agates at this show to be very delightful to the eye and have included some in this update but, the polyhedroid agates I found are off the hook! Wait until you see them, I think you will agree. I also came across a truly marvelous piece of bright red jasper from Namibia you will love! I have some low end pieces that I thought were fun and interesting as well as some high end pieces for you to consider in this update. Lastly, I have decided to offer 20% off on all agates previously offered except for the Lava Cap Thundereggs. So, if it is not in the current update and not a Lava Cap Thunderegg it is on sale for the holidays. Enjoy Gaia's Art.Ronna

October 4, 2017 Finally! Denver Show 2017 Agates and Signed Copies of
More Exquisite Agates Book Along with a passel of new agates from the Denver show,
I am offering signed copies of Dietrich Mayer’s new book ‘More Exquisite
Agates’. It is a fabulous
book with excellent photos and some great stories about different agate
localities. I only have 15 copies all signed by Dietrich Mayer. The agates
in this update show a lot of diversity. The best agate in this update is
one of the best agates I have purchased at any show. It is a killer
Chinese agate from the Traditional mine in China. What makes it even more
special is that the Chinese government has closed all of the agate mines
in Hebei Province until 2022, supposedly for the Olympic Games. So, high
quality Chinese agates are now rare and this one is a real beauty. There
are several Coyamitos, two different types of Lagunas, a couple of nice
Coyamito pseudomorphs, two small Polyhedroid slices and two very unique
agatized cactus pieces that remind me of the Majestic Opal agates from
Turkey that I have offered in previous updates. There is also a perfect
Mozambique agate, a pair of Chubut agates from Patagonia, Argentina, an
unusual Condor pair and one pretty Agua Nueva agate. These were the best
of Denver 2017 that I could find at 3 different venues. There were some
very high end Lagunas available just out of my reach that I hope to make
available in the future if people are interested in seeing
them. Enjoy Gaia’s
art! Ronna I have 15 copies of the More Exquisite Agates Book by Dietrich Mayer. He signed these at the Denver Gem and Mineral Society Main Show September 2017. I had the pleasure of meeting Dietrich Mayer at the show - when he visited our showroom at the Marriott, when I attended his talk at the main show, and when I purchased the books and he signed them. The photography is fantastic and the variety of agates in the book are amazing! Dietrich Mayer has more than 5500 agates in his personal collection. The cost is $100 per book and shipping charges for domestic addresses is $10. For foreign via Int'l Priority Shipping it is $55.00. Bode publishing is in Germany and may still have unsigned copies if you are in Europe. Only 1000 books were printed. Email me to order one now : ronnajewett@gmail.com

August 9, 2017 Fresh Picked Condor Agates from Argentina This is a special offering of River Crossing deposit
Condor agates, Resbalon deposit Condors, El Fondo deposit Condors and
Mariela Renee deposit Condors directly from the miner of these deposits in
the San Rafael, Mendoza Province area of Argentina. There is
amazing diversity in this grouping and all of the polishing was done by
myself and a friend in his rock workshop. The nature of the vast majority
of condors is that they appear dark until illuminated with good light,
preferably LED lighting. I use two small 10 watt photographic LED lights
to photograph the agates. So, they appear lighter than they do in natural
room light. I have kept the photos from being over lighted to best show
their inner beauty. But, if you use a super high wattage LED light, these
agates will glow with pastel colors. There are several agates that have
healed fractures and fractures you can feel but, they are pretty darn old
and have been through who knows what over the centuries. I hope you enjoy
this new update. The prices are in accordance with the perfection, near
perfection and less than perfection that I see in each of these Condor
agates that have finally seen the light of day. Enjoy Gaia’s art! Ronna

July 10, 2017 Summer Slices, They’re a Weight Conscious Way To
Collect Agates
What better way to slim down than with a Laguna, Brazilian or Condor agate slice? That would be in shipping weight rather than actual pounds though. Still, they are beautiful because you can see the light through them and see amazing details under magnification. I provided backlit photos for most of the 20 slices I am offering in July. Mr. Hauser loved slicing and polishing agates. He had a good eye and with the material he had to work with he did an amazing job of polishing it all. I have a good deal of Brazilian half nodules that are fantastic that I will post another time. The exciting news, is that I have just purchased a large batch of River Crossing Condors from a private claim of world class quality that I will be bringing to everyone in the fall after I get them all polished and ready to go. Keep an eye out for these, because they are eye candy! Gorgeous colors! And just a FYI, I am running weekly auctions with 10 agates in each auction on the Trinity Minerals auction site of agates from previous updates and they all start at just $1. You can see them at http://www.auction3.mineral-auctions.com. The Dealer’s Choice auction runs Wednesday through Tuesday of each week and begins to close at 5:00 pm PDT until ten minutes after the final bid. You can register to bid on any page of the auction site.Enjoy Gaia's Art! Ronna Jewett Gaiaagates.com

June 28, 2017 Contour Polished Laguna Agates and Czech
Republic Agates
This update is full of old time Lagunas probably collected in the 50’s or 60’s by Joel Hauser. The Laguna half nodules with the contour polish are harder to do than a flat polish and show much more dimension in the agate. There are several Laguna slices, some of which look more like modern Lagunas with the excellent banding and some that are more unfamiliar in modern times. I have also added some agates from the Czech Republic that I got as part of a collection. There are some very unique pieces, including a chunk of quartz with agate running through it. And just a FYI, I am running weekly auctions with 10 agates in each auction on the Trinity Minerals auction site of agates from previous updates and they all start at just $1. You can see them at http://www.auction3.mineral-auctions.com. April 12, 2017 The Hauser Collection
While I was in Tucson 2016, I took a side trip to Redlands, CA to see the Joel F. Hauser agate and mineral collection. Several pieces were on display this year at the Tucson Convention Center or the main show as it is known. What I found was an amazing collection of Hauser Bed agates and geodes that Mr. Hauser found himself with his father in the Chuckawalla Mountains near Blythe, CA and off of Wiley’s Well Road in both Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Joel Hauser not only collected Hauser Bed agates, but also Mexican agates, petrified wood, malachite, rhodochrosite and fluorescent material from the Franklin deposit. Joel Hauser was an expert at contour polishing of agates, jasper, malachite and rhodochrosite. It is a freeform, undulating polishing style that adds interest and texture while removing blemishes. I was thrilled to get the agates and jaspers in this collection and I have posted one piece of contour polished Bruneau jasper and a contour polished Opal Deschutes jasper along with several Bruneau slices, Laguna half nodules and three very special Hauser Bed agate/geodes with original artwork in this update. There will be more updates of his contour polished agates as well as some beautiful Laguna slices, Hauser Bed agates, Oregon Blue agates, Baker Ranch Thundereggs and much more. I am most pleased to bring you the Hauser collection dating from the 1930’s through 1970’s. Enjoy Gaia's Art! Ronna Jewett Gaiaagates.com

April 6, 2017 England’s Glory! Dulcote Agate Collection
Direct from Somerset, England I am proud to present the most complete collection of Dulcote agates in all their diversity. From solid nodules with amazing patterns and colors to quartz crystal filled geodes to the unusual eye features and orbs. Dulcote agates all have the red to orange hematite coloration with creamy white quartz banding, as you will see in this update which is the largest collection being offered that I am aware of, as most Dulcotes are still in private collections in England. Dulcotes are the only agates found in England thus, one of their names is ”England’s Glory”. They are also called "Mendip Magic Stones", "Potato Stones" and "Bristol Diamonds". "Bristol Diamonds" were named for a local trade in the Bristol area dating back 1632. They are quite rare these days as digging at the quarry or on private property is prohibited. I was thrilled to get this collection and share it with you, my fellow agate lovers. I have listed them all as pairs except for four single half nodules. They were all well cut and polished with hardly any fractures. Click the link below to view the entire collection of these rare Dulcote agates. To order please email me with the address below. March 7, 2017 MORE NEW AGATES FROM THE 2017 TUCSON SHOW
!
It’s Raining Agates! Ouch
Yes, we have
returned home from Tucson and this is my second Tucson update of all the
great agates I could find at all, of
the many venues in Tucson. Enjoy the variety of agates in this new
update, from all the different
localities around the world. Namibia to Mozambique to Australia to Mexico
to Argentina and New Mexico. There
are still some great agates in my last February 17th update as well.
The Big News is
that I purchased the Joel Hauser Collection of agates while I was in
Tucson, which was a featured exhibit
case at the Tucson Main Show. Mr. Hauser is the finder of the Hauser Beds
of Hauser Thundereggs in California.
He also collected, cut, polished and displayed in his home
museum/showroom many Mexican agates,
Brunneau jaspers, plume agates and petrified wood as well as mineral specimens that he liked to polish such as
malachite. This collection dates back to the 50’s and 60’s when most of the agates were procured, cut and
polished. I will be heading to Redlands later this month to pack up and bring home the collection. I
can’t wait to dig into it and bring some great agates to you in my April update.
I still need to
identify the agates in the old English collection I also bought in Tucson.
Very interesting old agates in this
small batch, including some nice quartz pieces I may put in the
Mineral-auctions.com site. You can
register to bid easily if you would like to receive notes about the
auctions. I will be updating with
the entire collection of Dulcote agates from England next, so you can get
a real feel for what the range of
Dulcotes look like. England’s Glory!
I am also looking
forward to teaming up with Lori Coleman to offer more of her amazing Lava
Cap Thundereggs and Eggzilla
Thundereggs. They are from Deming, New Mexico and are really top of the
line T-eggs!
Enjoy Gaia’s
art!

February 17, 2017 NEW AGATES FROM THE 2017 TUCSON SHOW
!
Notes from Tucson 2017
Tucson is a big deal! Preparation for the annual Tucson Gem & Mineral Show begins before you leave for Tucson from home. Some dealers have even purchased homes and moved to Tucson so they don’t have to drive or fly to Tucson and have more time to prepare for the big show! We found a house to rent for this year in Tucson before we left last year. I'd been working for months to acquire enough agates and minerals leading up to this event to make for a good show in Tucson. We drove for two days to get here in two cars to accommodate all the flats of pretties (next year we are getting a van) and as soon as we arrive, it’s On! Meeting with friends, clients, getting an early bird jump at the shows where other dealers may already be set up and getting settled and getting an office set up at the home base. We did a couple of small shows this year from one day to three days each. Hunting agates! This is a real challenge. There are so many venues in Tucson that I literally plot a course of venues and dealers to visit over the course of 2 ½ weeks. I scour the shows and holes in the wall where I have found agates in the past and am happily surprised when I find a new source. I have been working to get my name out in the agate world and I was pleased to be contacted this year with some great opportunities to get great agates for my growing collector base. As I hunt for agates, I tell people that I shop for my guys and gals based on what they like and what they request. It’s not an easy task to find stellar agates with great pictures, patterns and colors with no fractures and find them at prices that won’t break the bank. Agates are indeed getting more popular and many agate dealers think they are mineral dealer’s and can ask the big bucks for their agates. Well, in this case I admire longingly and move on. I would happily take orders for high end agates, so if that is something of interest to you email me and we'll make it happen. There are some incredible agates in the higher price ranges though and I hope to offer some of these magnificent agates in the near future. Lagunas, Chinese, Condors, and much more. I found a very
diverse group of agates this year in Tucson and I will roll them out in a
couple of updates. I bought a stunning collection of Dulcote agates from
Somerset, England and some Lava Cap Thundereggs from Deming, New Mexico
that are the first of a steady rollout of great Lava Caps to come in
future updates. I just love what I am doing and I hope it shows in the
agates I choose, my photography and descriptions of all the diversity Gaia
has to offer in the world of agates. Enjoy Gaia’s art!
